Semi-rigid inflatable boat SARGO
The launch-boat SARGO is at the service of the Department
of Oceanography and Fisheries (DOP/UAç) since 1990. This Marshall boat is 5.6 m long being specifically for
coastal research (it supports mostly scientific scuba-diving work) around
the islands of Faial, Pico and São Jorge. This launch is equipped with a Yamaha engine (80 cv)
and it can speed up to 30 knots at 5,400 rpm. It has a wide prow where
all the equipment for 4 scuba divers can fit easily. The maximum number
of people allowed in this launch is 6 (including 1 skipper, required for
